If you have received this through your door it means that you live in our parish ~ the roads in Bexhill for which we have particular responsibility. Maybe you have received it from a friend or neighbour, or even picked it up in church. However you got hold of it, we’d love to see you at one of our Christmas services. Do come and join us! David Frost ~ Vicar of St Stephen’s NOT ANOTHER BABY! With all that’s going on in our lives and in the world, it is easy to miss it. Another birth. Do I need to send a card? What was it’s name again? Oh no, does that mean I have to go to church for the christening? I hate churches. They can be so cold. Well it was a long time ago. But that little birth, that could so easily have been missed, was revolutionary. Many believe that child was no less than God Himself becoming a human being and coming into the world. If there is a God, why would he want to do such a crazy thing as that? Because we have lost the way and become preoccupied with things that don’t really matter that much, because for many it has become a world of weeping, and because God loves us. He came to give us true life. It is still though so easy to miss it. We can carry on with our routines, focus on our football teams or what’s going to happen in Dr Who, and let what happened in Israel two thousand years ago pass us by. But if we stop for a bit and listen, have a look at this thing, we might hear the living God speak to us personally today. Jesus didn’t come just for the people who lived back then or just for people in Israel, but he came for all of us that we might connect with God and find true life. Why don’t you come to church this Christmas to find out more? It’s even heated so you shouldn’t get cold! At St Stephens, we cater all through the year for all ages, and around Christmas will have a Family Carol and Christingle service at 4pm on Sunday 20th December followed by mince pies and mulled wine, a Midnight Communion on Christmas Eve and a Family Celebration on Christmas Day at our normal service time of 10.30am. We look forward to hopefully seeing you and wish you a blessed Christmas.

Watchnight Service Following on from last year, we are intending to have a Watchnight Service in church on New Year’s Eve.This will be a simple service which will start at 11.30pm and finish just after Midnight on New Year’s Day. There will be a social event in the Church Hall starting at 9pm. If you come to church there will be a list to sign for those who intend coming to the social, but please feel free to turn up at the church from 11.15pm if you would like to come to the service. It’s a chance to begin the new year with God; thanking him for the past and trusting him for the future. We’d love you to join us.
